Hey Pythonista,

Two HUGE announcements! Let's get into it!

1. Humble Bundle Time!

It's here again! Yes! It's been a couple of years, but we've pulled our socks up and pieced together another Humble Bundle:

Introducing the Next Level Python - From Talk Python and Friends Bundle!

From a Pybites perspective, you'll be able to grab our Python Tips Book, Newbie Bites, and a 40 or 60 set of tokens for the Pybites coding platform (see second exciting announcement!).

There's also content from a bunch of our mates:

  • Talk Python Training

  • Metasnake (Matt Harrison)

  • Brian Okken

  • Reuven Lerner

  • Real Python

  • Jetbrains

There is a HEAP to keep you hungry, learning and implementing (that last part is key!).

And of course, it's all for a good cause with proceeds going toward Girls Who Code!

2. Pybites Platform 2.0

If you've seen our platform, you've likely raised an eyebrow at the UI and UX. We know, we know, it's not great. We've received this feedback for a little while now but hadn't been able to dedicate the resources to update and streamline the experience.

That is of course, until now!

Introducing Pybites Platform 2.0.

Bob's been hard at work rebuilding the platform from the ground up and it looks and feels incredible.

Furthermore, everything you see and will experience is the result of a detailed discussion and thought process. We don't want anything making its way to production this time unless we're certain it's needed and adds value to your experience.

For context, many years ago when we first built the platform, it was while we were learning Django. We were so excited by the cool things we could do, and the data we could present to the user, that we were reasonably blind to the experience itself. Ultimately, it was a tool we built to scratch our own itch that we never imagined would reach the levels of usership and exposure it has.

This 2.0 refresh is all about making the platform experience something you, our community, will be excited to use time and time again. The challenge should be in the exercises alone, not in the usage of the platform.

It's faster, cleaner, slick, modern, and minimalistic.

Expect more on this over the coming months as development continues!

Take a breath! That was a lot of excitement to process!

Now get out there and start coding!

Enjoy your week.

Julian + Bob
