Bite-Sized Python News & Updates

Hey Pythonista,

Happy New Year!

Diving straight in - you’re going to hear a lot of coding advice over the next few weeks as we enter 2026...

  • "Just build a project"

  • "Master Data Science"

  • "Learn AI and LLMs"

  • "Solve more LeetCode"

  • "Read the official docs"

  • "Get another certification"

But here’s the thing, you’ve probably heard all of that generic advice hundreds of times already. And while those things aren't "wrong," they don't give you a roadmap tailored to your career, your schedule, or your specific goals.

It’s like telling a junior dev that to be a Senior Engineer, they just need to "write better code." Ha!

The truth is, for 90% of developers out there, 2026 will go the same way as 2025.

They’ll cobble together a learning path based on random YouTube tutorials and 15 different Udemy courses, winging it until they hit a wall or get bored.

We've seen it every year since we started Pybites.

By mid-February, the initial excitement of "learning Python" fades. The GitHub streaks end, and the Tutorial Hell cycle claims another victim.

So, if your strategy is "I hope I stay motivated this time" combined with a random collection of bookmarks, the odds aren't in your favor.

If you’re looking for a real solution with professional accountability, a community of like-minded devs, and a plan tailored specifically for your career, we can help.

We are opening 5 new coaching spots for our PDM (Python Developer Mindset) program for those looking to start 2026 with a bang.

We don’t do hardcore marketing or pushy sales for this. We simply focus on results.

PDM for the win! ... in just six weeks, through the expert guidance of my PDM mentor, I learned the ENTIRE PIPELINE OF A RAG IMPLEMENTATION and deployed a working app! It’s absolutely amazing; I LEARNED SO MUCH. It would have easily taken me 6 months to 1 year to get to the point I’m at now, if at all ... My understanding of AI is so much deeper, and I’ve gained the knowledge I was looking for and much more. And I now have a clear vision of my future in AI and Python! - Tim G.

If you want us to guide you on your Python journey, help you build real-world portfolio pieces, and finally bridge the gap from "knowing syntax" to "being a developer," then check out the PDM Program here to see the results from our previous clients and apply to join.

PS. Our coaching spots usually fill up within days of sending an email like this. If you want to make 2026 the year you actually master Python, apply now to secure your spot for January.

Happy New Year folks!

Today is our first day back after a restful two-week break. It really reminded us just how important it is to switch off. Being completely offline has us both pumped and ready to dive back into everything today!

We hope you enjoyed some time off and got some well-deserved relaxation time in.

That said, let's get back into it together. Jump into the community and join our Weekly Accountability Sessions here. 1 hour per week, pure, solid, uninterrupted, focused work. It doesn't get better than that!

From Scripter to Senior Engineer

We launched a new guide just before the holidays: Escape Tutorial Hell: The 7 Engineering Shifts to Go From Scripter to Senior Engineer.

The feedback has been incredible. Thank you to everyone who took the time to message us and share their thoughts!

If you haven't checked it out, download it for free using the following link. It's hard, brutal, honest and absolutely necessary going into the new year.

Let us know what you think when you read through it!

“The most universal expression of all is a smile, which is rather a nice thought. No society has ever been found that doesn’t respond to smiles in the same way. True smiles are brief—between two-thirds of a second and four seconds. That’s why a held smile begins to look menacing."
