Hey Pythonista,
How's your week going?
I really enjoyed listening to Julian's interview with Joao Pedro Chaib (JP) on our podcast.
And it reminded me once again how important mindset is in the developer (and any career) journey.
Some lessons / take-aways:
Don't fear moving into tech; it's a realm open to anyone with the passion to learn.
Fail often and learn by doing. Each mistake is a step toward mastery.
Don't isolate yourself. Find a supportive community or a mentor to guide your growth (hint hint! pybites.circle.so)
Consider not just the job, but the life you want. Tech offers flexibility that supports future goals.
Keep learning, no matter how experienced you are. This makes you more humble and opens doors to more knowledge.
Identify what you want and work backward from that goal to create a clear path.
Use skills from previous careers in your new tech role. Every experience counts!
The only way to know if you can succeed in tech is by taking the leap. You can only overcome fear with action.
Be open to learning new languages, tools and skills; versatility is key in tech.
Tech can be challenging, but resilience and a positive attitude will push you through tough times.
Plus some great book tips towards the end.

And stay tuned for our next episode with David Hewitt, core maintainer of PyO3 and member of the Pydantic team.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

P.S. Our coaching programs are 80+% tech, but while people come for the Python + dev skills, throughout the journey they often realize it's the mindset (or lack thereof) that has kept them blocked for so long.
We can help you build the confidence to face the challenging obstacles we all face as developers.
Check out our programs here and if interested apply there and we'll be in touch:
