Hey Pythonista
I had some great responses I wanted to share from the Accountability email I sent last week.
A few of the replies I received were from Python devs who agreed that they really appreciated having the accountability that came from having a senior dev working on their team, on a project, etc.
Knowing that someone senior was going to be looking over their code ensured they checked their code multiple times before making a pull request. No one likes to make simple mistakes in front of their colleagues and seniors!
Beyond coding, it was nice to hear how accountability had helped people with many other endeavours. One of my favourites was someone who had a reading buddy! They meet them weekly to discuss the next chapter of the book they're reading together.
The accountability of discussing that chapter every week worked on two levels. One, they kept up the habit of reading, and two, they'd started getting through books quicker than ever.
And on that note, we even had an ex-coaching client reach out saying that accountability is what he enjoyed most about our Pybites Developer Mindset (PDM) program. It helped him learn more Python in the 12 weeks than he had in the previous 2 years.
On reflection, aside from the confidence building, the accountability is always one of the highlights people mention at the end of the program.
There's no magic bullet when it comes to learning Python, but having someone holding you accountable on your journey definitely comes close!
Let us be your senior dev. Grab us for a chat, join PDM, and ditch the stagnation.
